If it's not an emergency, I would generally consider it a lost cause. I have had the experiance before, mostly with recruiters and head hunters (not exclusively), that is not a good their end. If people don't respect their applicants even to that degree it doesn't bode well to how they will treat you as an employee. I've had two instances where that happened during the interview process. The full time position where it happened I went in again to talk to them again (they called quite a bit later and said something came up), and the pay was so bad I started looking around the office for the hidden camera because I thought it was a prank. The second was for a contract, and when I touched base with my recruiter I literally said that the job was so bad that if I had an oppertunity to change something in my that job would be one of the first.
